Enfants de Mabera is a non-profit organisation based in France. It has been created in 2008 with the purpose of providing support and assistance to the children (from 0 to 18) living in rural areas in Kenya, in partnership with local organizations.
A branch was developed in Kenya in December 2008 .
The main goal of the organization is to promote the Rights of the Child and give them the opportunity to access information about these Rights, health and environment.

HISTORY OF ENFANTS DE MABERA

It has been created after an experience within a community in Kuria District (Nyanza Province) in 2007. Volunteers stayed in this community for an international workcamp where they worked with the children on topics such as HIV/Aids, FGM, Girl child education, early marriages. After this experience, some volunteers from France and Kenya decided to transform this short term project into a long term project.
The “Association Enfants de Mabera” has been created in order to carry out this project and other same kind of projects in Kenya.

1. Sensitize and educate population and specially the children and youths on many issues such as Rights of the child, Health and Environment
2. Undertake actions to ensure gender equality, (school, work opportunities etc)
3. Organize cultural events, sports tournaments, exhibitions etc, to draw interest in the actions undertaken within the communities
4. Give the opportunity to the children to express themselves

MEMBERSHIP

Enfants de Mabera is a membership organization that draws members from all walks of life irrespective of academic status, creed, religion, nationality and political affiliation. To become a member one has to pay a membership fee to facilitate the group activity and accept the vision, philosophy and actions of the organization.
